In Japan,
the Goth scene is quite different than here in the States. It
crosses over heavily with the Lolita look, and most Goths seem
to be women. In the Harajuku district, Japanese Goths congregate
every weekend. This is just a small sampling from one Sunday...

love the vinyl kimonos! If there is anything wonderfully and
stylishly unique about Japanese Goth fashion, this would have
to be it! |

tourists had their daughter pose with this Gothic Lolita.
Why the daughter was dressed up, I can't say. The girl dressed
in the vinyl SS uniform was even carrying around an Airsoft
Luger pistol. |

Japanese Goths don't seem to mind posing for photos. In fact,
that appears to be an expected activity. Every weekend, tourists
and professional photographers also congregate to capture
the dark pageantry on film. |
